Welcome to the Spartans Summiting Mt. Taygetus Challenge! Mt. Taygetus is 7,887 feet tall and is located on the Peloponnese peninsula in Southern Greece, home of the Spartans!

• Over the next month, you and other SJSU Spartans will be embarking on a journey to climb to the summit of Mt. Taygetus which towered above the ancient city of Sparta. While we will not actually be traveling to Greece, you will be hiking and climbing the equivalent elevation and distance on local trails, or at our climbing gym on campus.

• SJSU Spartans who successfully complete the challenge by the end of the day on September 30, 2021 will be rewarded with some fun Outdoor Adventures themed prizes!

• After you register, you will be emailed a packet of instructions to start your journey.
