How to Sign Up

Visit the Front Desk at the SRAC to sign up. Trip prices are for current SJSU students only with a valid SRAC membership, unless a non-student pricing is specified.

More details about the trip will be emailed after sign up. Trip logistics are typically emailed one week prior to departure.

Trip Difficulty Guide

Our goal is to help you challenge yourself while also setting you up for a positive, safe experience. If you’re unsure what level is right for you, please reach out. Our staff is happy to help you decide!

Level 1 - Short distance, easy terrain. No experience needed.

Level 2 - Moderate mileage and terrain. Open to all.

Level 3- Longer day hikes or intro-level multi-day trips. Longer days and/or remote settings. Some prior hiking or overnight experience is recommended.

Level 4- Multi-day trips with significant mileage and rugged terrain. Experience required.

Level 5 - Advanced multi-day trips with long, strenuous days. Strong fitness and experience required.

Participants are expected to follow all guidelines and restrictions set by SJSU, the locations we visit, and Outdoor Adventure leaders during the trip. Any report of unsafe behavior or conduct that may be construed as harassing will not be tolerated, and participants may be removed from the trip at their own expense.

We reserve the right to deny anyone from participating in these programs.

Sequoia Women’s Camping Trip

• Trip Dates: April 24-26, 2026

• Registration Fee: $140 SJSU Students only

• Registration Opens: April 6, 2026

• Registration Deadline: April 20, 2026

• Pre-Trip Meeting: April 20, 2026 at 5 pm

• Trip Brief: Join us on a three-day camping trip in Sequoia National Park, home to some of the largest trees in the world. This woman-centered trip is all about getting outside, building community, and enjoying time together in nature.

  We’ll provide transportation and trip leaders, and equipment.

  This is a Level 3 trip. We will be in a remote area, so some prior hiking experience is required. Spots fill up fast, so swing by the Recreation Center to sign-up!

Yosemite Backpacking Trip

• Trip Dates: May 1-3, 2026

• Registration Fee: $140 SJSU Students only

• Registration Opens: April 13, 2026

• Registration Deadline: April 27, 2026

• Pre-Trip Meeting: April 27, 2026, at 5 pm.

• Trip Brief: Join us on an adventure in the Hetch Hetchy region of Yosemite National Park! We will be spending two nights and three days exploring the backcountry, taking in great views, embracing a challenge, and enjoying a few days outside together.

  We’ll provide transportation and trip leaders, so all you need to do is show up ready to backpack and hike! Spots fill fast, so swing by the Recreation Center to register at the front desk.

  This is a Level 3 trip. We will be in a remote area, so some prior hiking experience is required, and camping experience is recommended.

All Outdoor Adventure Trips are for all skill levels. Beginners are not only welcome, but encouraged to join us!
