Welcome to the Spartans Summiting Mt. Everest Virtual Challenge. Over the next 15 weeks, you and other SJSU students will be embarking on a journey of epic proportions. On this journey, we will be climbing to the top of the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. No, we will not actually be traveling to Nepal or Tibet; instead we will be hiking and climbing the equivalent elevation and distance of the mountain on your own local trails, city streets, or even indoors. 

While the idea of climbing to the top of the tallest mountain in the world may seem daunting, the climb is doable by breaking it down into smaller manageable chunks throughout these 15 weeks.

To successfully climb the mountain, you will need to stop at four camps along the way to acclimate yourself to the elevation. At these camps, you’ll be able to learn some new outdoor skills and meet other SJSU students who enjoy the outdoors.

All SJSU students who complete the challenge will be entered into a drawing for some fun outdoor themed prizes.

After you register, you will be emailed a packet of instructions to start your journey.
